Travel from Exeter to Ellmau. The popular family resort in the heart of the Ski Welt.
Right in the heart of Tyrol, the Ellmau is located between the Wilder Kaiser mountains and the gentler Kitzbüheler Alps. It forms part of the vast ‘Ski Welt’ Wilder Kaiser-Brixental which interlinks several resorts, including Söll and Westendorf, enabling access to over 250kms of piste. Gentle nursery slopes are close to the centre and an efficient ski-bus links with the Hartkaiserbahn which is Austria’s longest mountain railway. The Hartkaiserbahn gets skiers up to 1550 m (5000 ft) in just 4 minutes through some of Austrias best scenery and runs from 8.30am - 4.30pm.
Relatively inexperienced skiers will enjoy the extensive choice of blue and easy red runs between Ellmau and Söll. Après ski is varied with lively bars and traditional Austrian events. There are also some excellent, huge, pools both indoor and outdoor (heated of course) for time off-piste.
A ski-kindergarten is available for the over threes and there are excellent child-care facilities available at the resort.
