Kitzbühel, in the Tyrol, has an extensive ski circuit covering over 160 km (100 miles) of pistes on two mountains, the Kitzbüheler Horn and the Hahnenkamm. Famous above all for the Men’s Downhill Race on the Hahnenkamm, this lively and sophisticated resort has something for everyone, from young to old and from beginner to expert. Convenient nursery slopes at the base of the Hahnenkamm are great for beginners and the choice of blue and reds is extensive for new-intermediates and more experienced, not to mention confident skiers. Non-skiers can enjoy well-prepared walking paths or join an excursion to the historic cities of Salzburg or Innsbruck.

Dating back to the 14th century, Kitzbühel’s painted medievel houses, stylish shops, hidden passageways and charming cafés are fascinating to explore. Kitzbühel also has an excellent choice of après ski and nightlife. From sleigh rides to ice skating, indoor pools, bowling and tennis to some excellent bars and restuarants. As well as this there are night skiing and excursions to the historic cities of Innsbruck or Salzburg.
